Dances with Wolves, Kevin Costner's directorial debut and most famous part, was a hit. Costner played Union Army Lieutenant John Dunbar, who meets Lakota Sioux. It won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director for Costner, cementing his Hollywood stardom.  

Costner played Ray Kinsella, an Iowa farmer who builds a baseball field in his cornfield after hearing a voice in Field of Dreams. The film is famous for its statement, "If you build it, he will come." The film got three Oscar nominations and is an American classic.  

The Bodyguard stars Costner as Frank Farmer, a former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard, opposite Whitney Houston. Houston's interpretation of "I Will Always Love You." made the film a hit and popularized its soundtrack.  

In this minor league baseball romantic comedy, Costner plays Crash Davis, a veteran catcher who mentors a promising pitcher.
